The Sahaj guide

Your birth chart, in words you can use

A personal reading begins with your details. Understanding what those details can—and cannot—tell a chart calculator is a good place to start.

What a personal birth-chart reading means

A birth chart records calculated celestial positions for a birth date, time and place within an astrological system. A reading interprets those positions using that tradition. Calculation and interpretation are distinct: a precise calculation does not make an interpretation a proven description of your life.

Sahaj is being built to explain a personal chart through conversation on WhatsApp. Instead of stopping at a list of placements, you can ask what a term means, how it relates to your question, and why an interpretation was offered. It is an AI guide, with no human astrologer reviewing the reading.

The birth details to prepare

You will be asked to confirm three details before the chart is calculated:

  • Birth date: the day, month and year. Check the date format when entering it.
  • Birth time: the local time where you were born, as closely as you know it. Say if it is approximate; do not turn a guess into an exact-looking time.
  • Birth place: the city or town and country. Distinguishing similarly named places helps the calculation service use the intended location.

If a family record gives a time, use it as your starting point and keep any uncertainty visible. Sahaj also supports the planned option of uploading a Kundli photo or PDF to extract these details. You confirm what was read, and the chart is recalculated from that information.

When your birth time is approximate or unknown

The Ascendant, house divisions and some timing methods depend on birth time. A small uncertainty can matter for a factor near a boundary; a much larger uncertainty can change which parts of the chart are usable at all.

With an approximate time, Sahaj’s approach is to lower confidence and avoid claims that rely on minute-level precision. With an unknown time, it first asks whether you can narrow it down. If you cannot, the reading should explicitly leave out time-dependent details. It must not silently assign a convenient time or imply that a full timed reading is available.

You can ask, “Which parts of this reading would change if my time is wrong?” That helps separate the interpretation from the assumptions behind it. An AI conversation cannot recover a missing birth record.

Choose Vedic or Western astrology

Vedic and Western astrology are distinct traditions with different reference points and interpretive techniques. Their common sidereal and tropical approaches can assign different signs to the same birth details. A difference between readings does not, by itself, show that the calculator made an error.

Sahaj asks which approach you want. If you explore both, the readings stay separately labelled so you can understand each on its own terms. Sahaj does not combine whichever parts sound appealing into a single reading. The detailed methodology explains the calculation boundary and how interpretations are grounded in the selected chart.

What you receive from Sahaj

The planned experience gives you a written reading with its reasoning and limitations, a chart image, a spoken version, and a short vertical video with captions in your language. These formats come from the same calculation. Asking for a different format does not create a new chart.

The conversation matters as much as the first reading. You can ask for a simpler explanation, question a statement or bring a specific concern. Sahaj is designed for text and voice in English, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and Hinglish. Our AI astrology guide explains what the language model contributes and where it can go wrong.

Use the reading as a starting point

A birth-chart interpretation can offer a vocabulary for reflection. It cannot settle a health concern, decide whether you should leave a relationship, or tell you how to invest your money. Astrology is not a scientifically established method for predicting individual outcomes, and AI can generate convincing mistakes.

Keep your lived experience and judgement in the conversation. If an interpretation does not fit, say so and ask for the reasoning. If you would rather talk it through with a person, a human practitioner may suit you better.
